Andre Le Masurier
Andre Le Masurier, the group creative director at Google
Brand Studio took the time to talk about Google’s latest project for good
dubbed Searching for Syria. They were
asked by the UNHCR (the UN refugee agency) to do a project that gives people
more information about what’s going in in Syria. The Google team came up with a concept that
focuses on the 5 most searched questions asked about Syria on Google. These questions were:
What was
Syria like before the war?
What is
going on in Syria?
What is a
refugee?
Where are
Syrian refugees going?
How can I
help Syrian refugees?
The Searching for Syria
website has images to accompany each of these questions that really put what is
going on in Syria into perspective and to help people understand what is
happening in the country and what they can do to help (there is definitely a
theme as to how creativity can help to shape the world for the better with
these last few speakers). I did not get
a chance to speak with Andre at the end of his presentation as he was shooting
off back to America.
