Why am I here and what do I want to to learn

Reasons for choosing this course:

What I want to Learn:

  • Further my knowledge in web design and motion graphics skills
  • Learn Traditional print methods such as Screen printing and Letter Pressing
  • Gain more confidence in talking about my ideas/concepts for a project
  • Gain Industry standard skills
  • Editorial design and book binding

My strengths:

  • Digital skills in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Video Editing with programs like Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro
  • Pixel Art
  • Cartoon illustrations/doodles
  • Web Design
  • Maths

What I want to improve on:

  • Overall confidence when in groups
  • Further Knowledge of Digital Software
  • Practical based skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Blogging/Documentation online

What inspires me:

  • Science // Technology
  • Animation
  • Movies Post production and its Practical/Special effects
  • Comics
  • Anything and all things Fantasy // Sci-fi

Some Design Examples:



A piece of fan art for one of my favourite games, Dark Souls. I love how complex this is and the fact the more you look the more you see. The guy who created this was a graphic design student and it got bought by the company to use it in their game
On the other end of the spectrum to the previous image. I really like the way that something so simple can look so good. This is one of many pieces out there of pixel art.
An example of Motion Graphics similar to that used in Comedy Central
One of my favourite Graphic designers turned Illustrators Pablo Lobato. His abstract approach to his celebrity illustrations makes it have a unique and recognisable style.
